Polls are one of the best ways to get user engagement on Facebook. Whether you’re working on your own branding to increase your group engagement, Polls play an important role in connecting with your users in a unique way, knowing their needs and then adjust your content and marketing strategy to match their needs. This article is all about how you can create a poll on Facebook Profile, Facebook Story Polls, Groups, Business Pages, Event, and Video Polls. You can even use the Poll on Facebook and Instagram ads.

What is a Poll?

Polls are a set of questions you want to ask your audience and increase the post reach on the platform. The users that see your post are intrigued by a Poll rather than reading the plain content you’re posting on Facebook. Users can choose one of the given options and the number of people that vote on your Poll will be displayed in a percentage below the selected choice by the user.

What are the benefits of a Poll?

As mentioned above, Polls are the new technique of questions that you want to ask your audience. Rather than typing and asking them to answer in the comments, using Polls, users can just click on the choice and you’ll have your answer.

Create a Poll on Facebook

There are various locations where you might require a Poll. This article is going to cover all the aspects and places where there’s a chance of user engagement through Polls.

Polls in Facebook Groups

Facebook groups are like a community and if there is a good user base, Polls will have a higher engagement than the regular posts. Groups are always preferred over Pages when it comes to increasing the reach of the post and beating the regular Facebook algorithm.

Here’s how you can create a Poll on Facebook Groups:

Step 1: Visit the group you want to post the poll in. Before posting anything, you should be clear about what you want the topic to be. Just don’t post irrelevant info as the Admins or Moderators might ban you if you’re a member. If you’re the owner of the group, posting relevant info guarantees high engagement from the members.

Step 2: Click on create a post. This will open up a new dialogue box where you can input a text in your post.

Step 3: In the new box, look for an option named “Add to Your post”. This will further open up a new dialogue box that will contain more options that can be added to your post. From the new menu, select “Poll”.

Step 4: The new box that opens will give you the choice to enter the details you want in your poll. You can add as many options as you want from the selection.

Step 4: After you put all the details, it’s now time to publish the poll in the group. While publishing the article, you get a choice to enable two options. One of them will be if users can select multiple answers and the other will allow people to add options.

Depending on the type of Poll, you can enable either of them and click Post. Your poll is now live in the group.

Polls in Facebook Story

Whether you’re an individual or running an organization’s Facebook handle, the process of posting a Poll on your story is the same. Story Polls on Facebook and Instagram have a high user engagement. Brands are often spotted communicating with their users using these Polls to know what’s expected in the market and how they can improve the user experience.

Follow these steps to know more about how you can create Facebook story Polls to skyrocket your brand or engage with your friends.

Step 1: Open the Facebook app on your smartphone and navigate to the page or profile to create a story.

Step 2: Tap on the profile photo at top left of the screen. You will get to choose from various options including creating a new story.

Step 3: After selecting “Create a New Story”, you will be greeted with a couple of cards to choose from. Swipe right and browse the cards till you get the “Poll” option. Click on it.

Step 4: In the new box, users will have to enter the question they want to ask in the story poll and the answers they want users to click on. After entering all the details, you can post it and the Poll will be live on your Facebook handle.

Polls on Messenger Groups

Well, you can not post on your own News Feed as a Poll because Facebook removed the feature. Although you cannot do much about it instead, you can connect with your friend in messenger groups and have discussions with Polls.

Here’s how you can create a Poll in your group.

Step 1: Open the group chat you want to create a Poll in. If you’re new to this, just create a group with a couple of your friends.

Step 2: Click on the “+” sign on the bottom left corner if you’re on a desktop. If you’re on a smartphone, just click on the icon on the button left corner.

Step 3: Click on the Poll option and enter the inputs you want. Enter the question and the choices for the user.

Step 4: Click on create a poll and your poll will be created in the group.

What Else?

There are many other locations where Facebook allows you to create polls to engage the audience. But the current trend goes with Groups and Page Story Polls. A poll is one of the best ways to know your audience requirements and complete their needs. I've seen many brands using the 'Poll feature' cleverly for doing quick surveys.

Now, you can even use your favourite gif in Poll Options which your audience would definitely love it. Just tap camera or gif icon in the option line to add a gif to your poll options.
